Membership Information
|
|
Memberships are valid for three years, and available only to residents that live within the Oakridge city limits. If you live in Westfir or outside of the city limits, your property taxes go to Lane County, not Oakridge, so memberships are restricted to at least one the following requirements:
- You must have an Oakridge post office box
- Own property within the Oakridge city limits
- You have children in the Oakridge school district that qualify for the free / reduced lunch program
- Volunteer 20 hours of service to the library
These guidelines are in effect until the year 2011, and are due to restrictions under the Federal grant that was received to build the new library.
The new library will be located next to City Hall. Construction is scheduled to begin in late spring, and completed around Fall 2009.
Volunteers are always encouraged to apply. This allows the library to have more open hours.
