Medical care is constantly improving in Oakridge. There is a clinic, a dental office, massage clinics, a vision practice, a pharmacy, and Fire Med ambulances and helicopters for emergency medical transport into Springfield where two full service hospitals are available for inpatient care. These hospitals, McKenzie-Willamette and Sacred Heart at River Bend, offer state of the art facilities with specialists in every field of medicine.

Locally, Five Rivers Medical Clinic is currently working to become certified as a Rural Healthcare Clinic through the federal government. . This will enable the clinic to enlarge and provide updated recordkeeping services, x-ray services and receive higher Medicare/Oregon Health Plan reimbursement. 

Simultaneously our city government is working closely with federal representatives to be named a medically underserved area so we will be able to apply for funding to be a Federally Qualified Health Center. This will enable us to build a small hospital and urgent care center. This facility will also have mental health services, physical rehabilitation and overnight care.
