Establishment of the Oakridge Water Relief Fund

Through generous donations by the Oakridge community, the City has established a water relief fund designed to help those on a fixed income or those that may have been impacted by the COVID-19 crisis and may be having difficulty making their water bill payments.

This fund is in its beginning stages with just a modest balance to date. We encourage those have the means and would like to help their fellow citizens to contribute. You may donate by a check made out to “Oakridge Water Relief Fund”. You can mail the check to:

City of Oakridge

PO Box 1410

Oakridge, OR 97463

Donations may also be dropped off at City Hall. Please note that these funds are in a separate account from City funds and may only be used for this program. Donations may also be made by debit or credit card to the City and these funds will be moved to the Water Relief Fund. Unfortunately we cannot process online donations at this time.

For those in need of financial assistance, there will be criteria established to qualify for a subsidy from the fund beginning with bills due by June 20th.  By June 5th, you will need to furnish a copy of your 2018 or 2019 return (or other proof of income such as Social Security statement); recent layoff off notice or unemployment application to show qualification for the program.  The relief will be via a credit to your water bill due with the amount based on the established criteria. If you wish to apply for this program please call City Hall at 541-782-2258, leave a message and you will be contacted. Please understand that current funds in this program are very limited which will in turn limit the number and amount of subsidies we can provide.
