Construction Update

We're working at several locations on OR 58

There are multiple work zones in the corridor, including routine maintenance and crews working on projects.

Plan ahead – with so much work happening in the corridor, expect delays and give yourself extra time to make your trip. Work is weather dependent and our schedules may change.

Know Before You Go

Salt Creek Tunnel Work and Seismic Landslide Mitigation

Starting Sept. 25 through Oct. 6, you'll see crews west of the Salt Creek Tunnel exploring the area and testing rock stability as part of a seismic landslide mitigation project. 

This work requires shoulder and single lane closures between 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Please use caution as you go through the area. Expect delays, flaggers and pilot cars helping direct traffic.

OR 58 Repairs in Oakridge

Starting the week of Sept. 25, we're repairing ruts and potholes between milepost 39 and milepost 43.

You can expect:

Crews working from 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 

Lane and shoulder closures as needed. 

Delays and construction noise.

Old Barnard Bridge Repairs

Starting Oct. 2 through Oct. 9, we're beginning repairs on the Old Barnard Bridge. We're replacing pieces that were damaged by an oversized load semi-truck. 

You can expect:

A detour around the closure using Westfir-Oakridge Road and OR 58.

On Monday, Oct. 2 – lane closures from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

On Tuesday, Oct. 3 to Friday, Oct. 6 – full bridge closure from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Saturday, Oct. 7 to Monday, Oct. 9 – lane closures from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Coast Fork Willamette River to Lower Salt Creek Bridges

We're working on the Salmon Creek and Lower Salt Creek Bridges Sunday through Friday, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.

For the Salmon Creek Bridge, you can expect:

The hiking trail under the bridge to be closed.

Five parking spaces to be closed at Greenwater Park.

Delays and construction noise.

For the Lower Salt Creek Bridge, you can expect:

Single lane nighttime closures as needed.

Flaggers helping direct traffic.

Delays and construction noise.

Culvert Repair and Replacement

Plan ahead for delays between milepost 13 and milepost 64.

You can expect:

Shoulder closures.

Single lane closures Monday through Friday, between 6 a.m. to  7 p.m. with flagging.

Up to three work zones.

Potential delays up to 20 minutes.

Construction noise.

Use Caution in the Work Zone

Pay attention in the work zone, slow down and move over – imagine this is where you work! Always drive safely, watch for construction signs and workers. 

Remember that fines double in all Oregon work zones, whether workers and signs are present or not.
